A Cheap Imitation
This evening I saw this in Publix:

(They didn't have the pink one in the picture, only black.)
It's essentially the same design as my Toto that I finished this week:

But, seriously, y'all, which is cuter? Remember the Toto I made in December:

Okay, so I'm a little obsessed with this pattern, but come on. What's more practical than a potholder?! And have you ever seen one this cute? How about you put a picture of your favorite potholder on your blog and post here linking to it (or email it to me, if you don't have a blog, and I'll post it.) Don't be shy. Chime in with your opinion.

Better Late than Never
Okay, here's last week's pictures:
Sunday, February 22:

This was in my fortune cookie after lunch today.
Monday, February 23: (You've seen this one, but we have to keep the set together)

Can you believe this? See the people through the doorway sitting in the comfy chairs? They displaced the knitters tonight at Panera. That's just not right. We sit there EVERY Monday. We had to sit in the other part of the restaurant. We're loud and rowdy. Usually everyone who doesn't want to be disturbed (by the noise) sits over there. So, the poachers caused almost all of the Panera diners to be subjected to loud yarn talk and laughter. Shame on you, poachers!
Tuesday, February 24:

I got a haircut today. That mirror doesn't look that dirty looking into it. Why is that?
Wednesday, February 25:

This evening at work we taped a show where a few dozen people were in the tv station. I locked my purse and work bag in my car and kept the essentials in my pocket: phone, lipstick, Orbit Cinnamint Gum, and car key (the back of the flip flop key ring is a mirror!).
Thursday, February 26:

Brand new half-gallon of Publix Premium Homemade Butter Pecan Ice Cream. Oh, my!
Friday, February 27:

Friday lunch break means Taco Bell in my world! I'm on a Cheesy Double Beef Burrito kick. For 89 cents, it's a great deal and really yummy! What's in the cup? Some tasty sweet tea!
Saturday, February 28:

This morning around 9am I was awakened by thunder and heavy rain. I got up to find we were under a tornado watch. Then a tornado hit about twenty miles away. By noon it was over. This afternoon it was 72 degrees and sunny. Look how nice. Tomorrow morning it's supposed to snow and stay in the 30's all day. Gotta love living in the South!
Okay, there's last week. I'm not even going to promise to do better. It's pointless. I'll blog again sometime.

Mid February
Yeah, I'm behind. I was sick last week with some sort of sinus/ear mess. I felt bad from last Tuesday Morning until, well, this morning. When I ate breakfast today (after getting to work), I felt better. Over the weekend I felt kind of lousy, not really sick, just tired. I slept twenty-eight hours over the weekend. Last week's pictures will tell some of the story:
We had a reception at church this afternoon for our new children's minister and his family. Here are the remnants of someone's snack.

My usual Panera snack for Monday Knit Night: Nutty Chocolate Chipper and a small Hazelnut Coffee.

I woke up at 4:30 this morning feeling yucky. Sore throat. Stuffed up nose. Coughing. I went to work, but afterward headed to Publix to arm myself against the enemy.

Cinnamin Toast

red - decongestant / tan - expectorant / brown - inbuprophen / turquoise - antibiotic

Cinnamon Twists from Taco Bell

My friend's cat, Boots' paw.

If you're behind on my 365 project you can see all the pictures in my flickr set.
My Garter Stitch Loop Through Scarf is close to being completed. Maybe next week there will be FO (Finished Object) pics for you.
Today at work we turned off our analog transmitter in conjunction with the switch to digital. There will be pictures of that next week, too.
I also went to Physical Therapy today for my back/neck and knee injuries from my car wreck three months ago. I have five exercises I have to do 100 reps of each day. Oh, boy.

How I Spent My Fourth of July Weekend
Friday morning I got up early like a normal workday, but instead of driving to the tv station, I drove to my dad's house in South Carolina. I arrived around 1:30. We went to Publix and bought groceries (always our first activity when I visit) and went home and had Hot Dogs and chili with baked beans and potato chips. Great Fourth of July meal. We George Foreman Grilled the hot dogs. Really good. I went through a long phase of not eating hot dogs. Gross things in there. I finally consented to eat Hebrew National Hot Dogs. They taste really good and I trust what's in them. They answer to a Higher Authority, you know.
As I have previously announced, there is no more wireless network around Daddy's house. It made me very sad. I sat there and played FreeCell and Mah Jong until the laptop battery died. Saturday we went to Schlotsky's for lunch and I was able to post. Finally. Then we went to yes yarn and I bought this:

After that we went to the mall where I found a fabulous deal on Patricia Wexler M.D. Dermatology Acnescription™ MMPi.20™ Anti-Aging Acne Serum. I bought two. It's on clearance. I hope they're not going to stop making it, because it's amazing. I started using it Saturday night and can really see the difference. The whole Wexler line is great if you're looking to improve your skin. It's kind of pricey, but worth every penny.
On Sunday after lunch at Cracker Barrel, we drove to

This is my half eaten dinner. From left to right, burrito, enchilada, and tamale.
Dawn's dinner: two chicken enchilada's and rice & beans.
Monday I drove back and went to my Knitting Group last night to work on Daddy's never ending vest. Fair Isle is some slow going stuff.

Sunday evening I went to Greenville to have dinner with Dawn. There's a Mexican place her family has been talking about forever, but haven't taken me to. Until now.

Opportunistic Photo Friday
Have you
ever tried True Lemon? There's also True Lime. Both are really good. It's crystallized lemon or lime juice. There's a True Orange, too; but I've never seen it in person. If you're a person who likes lemon or lime in their water, it's really good. I'll dump four packs of the lime into a quart of water from my Brita pitcher and have it with a quesadilla at home. Yum-oh! (As Racheal Ray would say.) Why am I doing a commercial on my blog for True Lemon/Lime? (Don't my commercials usually just appear on television?) Well, I went to their website and requested free samples. They send me an occasional newsletter and today's newsletter included an annoucement that if you recommend True Lemon/Lime/Orange on a message board, chat room, or blog, they'll send you ten packets. If you include the link to the free sample page, (as I - ahem - did above) they send five more. There's also a radio commercial. That link take you to the page to play it. (Maybe they'll include five more packs for that link!) When I had a sore throat, I mixed a couple of packs of Lemon with honey and hot water to make a soothing hot lemonade. Perfect. If you're trying to cut back on sugar, but like drinks with flavor, try it. Just order a free sample. It's risk free and if you don't like it, you can give it to me. I don't like artificial sweetener, so it's perfect for me. I figure God made sugar. It's food. That stuff in the pink, blue, and yellow packets are chemicals created in a lab. Not food. The only yellow packs I want around are True Lemon packets. For my Southern friends, it's available at Publix. At my Publix it's on the juice aisle near the Kool-Aid. I'm going to request samples of the True Orange. I want to see what it's like.
